MITCHAM MEANS BUSINESS - CASE STUDY Simply Seaweed Anna Maria met Mitcham Means Business Adviser, Jean Ottey, in July 2007 at a networking event. Seizing the opportunity of the wide range of services on offer to start-ups, Anna Maria attended business awareness and finance workshops and a Women Means Business seminar. Launching her business in October 2007, she took up the 1 to 1 business review and is on a six month mentoring programme, already having worked with Jean on Marketing, Networking, premises, franchising, finance and pricing as well as the brokering of an introduction to other health professionals. “I feel I have support, practical help, encouragement and advice,” said Anna Maria, “I can always pop in or call Jean with a question.” Despite growing competition in the field of complementary therapy, Anna Maria is confident that she has found a unique niche product. Her vision for the future of Simply Seaweed is to open her own spa selling her own range of products. Visit www.simply-seaweed.com
Through additional funding from London Borough of Merton, the Mitcham
Means Business programme now offers additional support through its intensive
mentoring support programme and the peer learning network. For more information,
