Sadip took over the Fairgreen Pharmacy in August with a vision to bring the shop into the 21st Century. A complete refit during March and April 2008 has resulted in a customer friendly state of the art pharmacy.

As with all good business ideas, Sandip recognised the importance of planning and spent time discussing his business ideas, sources of help, and researching his market with Jean Ottey the Mitcham Means Business Adviser.

Through assistance from Mitcham Means Business, Merton Council Town centre scheme and the Go Green project he has secured funding and advice allowing him to carry out the improvements and introduce environmental changes to the shop.

The store benefits from low voltage lighting, timers that reduce the electricity consumption and a recycling scheme for waste.

Further advice has been sought in improving the IT and marketing of the business with plans for promoting new services including smoking cessation, allergy testing, medication consultations and advice and onsite screening. These consultations are all carried out in the private consulting room, offering clients a local fast alternative to a GP appointment.

Sandip feels the services and help have been ‘excellent’ and would recommend them to everyone, with cost and time savings easily achieved with a short visit from a Greening Business Officer.
