POWER WARDEN - 0845 4940038

PowerWarden is the definitive solution for managing the energy cost of not just your PCs but also your monitors and peripherals as well. With an average return-on-investment of less than six months, PowerWarden will very quickly ensure you maximise the power efficiency and minimise the cost.

Complete Control
PowerWarden is a feature-rich network interface for your power management options. It is simple to install and configure, and has been designed to give PC Network Administrators total flexibility over managing the energy usage of networked or standalone PCs. Used in conjunction with the PowerWarden Smart Power Block it offers complete control over the electricity consumed by your IT equipment.

Feature Rich
PowerWarden is not just an application that shuts down PCs and peripherals at the end of the day and powers them up at the start of the next. It also allows the network administrator to set power usage profiles for working hours that ensure the PCs on the LAN are as energy efficient as possible. You simply install the application on your network server, create the power management rules and push them to each relevant PC. In addition, PCs can be woken up at any time for network maintenance procedures - such as an anti-virus update - then shut down automatically.

Different power management profiles can be applied to different groups of PCs or even individual PCs. You can also assign different profiles to different days.

Once the PowerWarden network application is installed, PCs on the LAN can be identified using the following three methods:

  • Network Neighbourhood
  • Active Directory
  • IP Address Range

A simple client is then pushed to the LAN PCs you wish to manage. As the network administrator you can:

  • Configure and apply power schemes to different PCs or workgroups
  • Exclude servers or a range of PCs
  • Schedule network maintenance eg. anti-virus scans and software updates

You can even design different power schemes for each day of the week that allow you to decide:

  • When to turn off monitors (if driven by the PC)
  • When to turn off hard disks
  • When and if to put the PC into standby
  • When and if to put the PC into hibernate
  • When and if to switch idle PCs off

PowerWarden can detect if a PC is still in use when colleagues are working late. The software will defer shutdown or hibernate, even after the scheduled time, until the individual PC has been idle for half an hour.

When a PC is plugged into the PowerWarden Smart Power Block the 'Computer' socket detects that it is shutting down and ceases the power to all the other sockets - switching off any devices such as monitors or peripherals that are plugged into them. There is also an "Always On" socket for a device which you may want to exclude from the schedule, eg. internet router.
