Newbloodart.com is an online art gallery which specialises in the affordable, original work of artists who are either currently studying on or have recently graduated from art courses in the UK. Prices start from approx. £50.

It was the brain child of Sarah Ryan, who is herself an art graduate and currently teaches A level Art at the Royal Ballet School.

Sarah saw a gap between consumers’ desire to own affordable artwork and the need of many artists to make a living from their work.

“Many of my friends told me that they would love to own original pieces of art rather than the heavily duplicated images that they were being offered by most retailers, but that they found the art world daunting and expensive.”

She appreciated from her time as a student that many young artists were equally keen to sell their work but found the commercial side of being an artist difficult. She feels that artists are often forced to take other jobs not because of the quality of their work but simply because they don’t reach the audience that they deserve.

newbloodart.com was started approx. 18 months ago by Sarah with the help of a partner who has a business background.
